A civil ID validity check on PACI answers that in seconds, and it’s free. Card Validity is not the same as Card Status
PACI has two different checks and people mix them up all the time:

How to check civil ID validity on PACI
- Open services.paci.gov.kw and switch to English.
- In the Card Services box, choose Card Validity.
- Enter the details asked for, usually your civil ID number and the card serial number printed on the card.
- Submit and read the result.
The serial number is different from your 12-digit civil ID number, so look carefully at the card. Each new card gets a new serial number.
Where to find the serial number
The serial number is printed on the card separately from your civil number. If you have a newer card in your wallet and an older one at home, make sure you’re using the serial number of the card you want to check. You’ll also need it for Meta platform registration and some delivery services.

Why the printed date isn’t always the full story
For expats, the civil ID depends on the residency. If your residency is cancelled, for example after leaving a job or a final exit, the card can stop being valid even if the printed date is in the future. And if you renewed or replaced the card, the old one is no longer valid. That’s why the online check is more reliable than just looking at the card.
What if my card is not valid?

If PACI says the card is not valid but the date on it is still in the future, the card may have been replaced by a newer one, for example after a renewal or a lost card report. Use the latest card, and call 1889988 if you’re unsure.
